A moment for Ukraine

MARKING ONE MONTH OF RUSSIAN INVASION IN UKRAINE – President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, delivered a moving speech on Thursday morning, in English, asking for people around the world to globally protest during this one-month mark of Russia’s invasion of his country by gathering together. “Make yourself visible and heard,” he said. “Say that people matter, freedom matters. Peace matters. Ukraine matters.” At noon on Thursday a number of people collected next to the cenotaph in Killarney to demonstrate their protest of the invasion of Ukraine. The ‘hand on heart’ gesture they are making reflects the Ukraine’s president’s response, which he has made repeatedly after receiving virtual standing ovations from parliaments around the globe in recent weeks.
