They are big, bad, and very entertaining.

Pro wrestlers – including top performer of the show Trent Seven, a WWE NXT star – will be risking their perilous lives in the ring on Saturday night, May 20, when Primos Wrestling brings their ‘May the Best Man Win’ show to town.

“We will have 16 wrestlers, and seven matches, and it will be an entertaining night full of laughs for the kids, great music with our DJ Von Sketchem, and it’s going to be a good time all round,” said promoter with Primos Wrestling, Graeme Keen.

Feature wrestler of the night, Trent Seven, comes from Wolverhampton, in the U.K. Midlands, said Keen, and he is a World Wrestling Entertainment Next Generation star.

“He’s more of a celebrity; he’s like the famous guy in a movie,” said Keen. “Trent is a star in Britain, and it’s great to have him with us.”

Keen, from Winnipeg, is also wrestler, and he became active in the sport back in 2003, touring throughout both Canada and the U.S., he said.

“I am a promoter for the shows, but I also wrestle, I sell tickets, and I set up the ring,” he said. “We just started getting going again after COVID, and this tour includes Winnipeg on May 19, Killarney on May 20, and Teulon on May 21. We also have upcoming shows in Swan River, Roblin, and Flin Flon. Winnipeg always sells out, and Teulon sold out last time as well.”

The Killarney event will feature 16 wrestlers, all males, and if the show packs out, Primos Wrestling is looking at bringing in some female wrestling entertainment for their next show.

“We’ll see how it goes, and if it goes well, maybe we’ll bring girls next time,” he said. “They cost more.”

Lewis and Jones have 500 advance tickets for sale, but fans can also snag a ticket at the door, said Keen.

“There will be lots of room for everybody at the Shamrock, and the show is for all ages,” he said. “We stay away from being violent, and being bloody, because we want people to have fun, and to come back next time.”

Primos Wrestling’s ‘May the Best Man Win’ runs on Saturday evening, May 20, at the Shamrock Centre, 725 Broadway Avenue, Killarney.

Advance tickets are available for $15 at Lewis and Jones on Broadway, and also on the night at the door for $20. Kids aged five and under get in free. The lively show starts at 7 p.m.
