HyLife Fun Days benefits Killarney Foodbank
BIG CHEQUE TO FOODBANK – Board members and volunteers at the Killarney and Area Foodbank were very grateful to be recipients of the recent HyLife Fun Days fundraising campaign, after receiving a whopping $40,000. “The proceeds of this donation will go towards a walk-in cooler at the foodbank to boost storage of fresh fruit, vegetables, and eggs for the foodbank,” they said, adding that the large donation would continue to provide much needed support. “On any given two weeks, we can have 25 to 30 families at the door,” said Killarney Foodbank board member Giselle Beaupre at the Fun Days event on Saturday. “So we want to thank you as employees and administration of HyLife because it really really means a lot to us, but we know that every two weeks when we meet our people at the door, it means a heck of a lot to them too.” Foodbank volunteers holding the big cheque are (from left): Giselle Beaupre, Loren Jones, Brenda Mitchell, and Petchie Hawkins.
