Capturing wonderful images of cats and dogs has earned substantial accreditation for a local photographer.
Jaime Knight, of Jamie Knight Photography in Killarney, was recently judged to be exceptional in her work as a portrait photographer of the feline species.
The Professional Photographers of Canada announced last month that Knight had earned her accreditation in Feline Portrait, after she submitted samples of her work to the group’s Board of Review for Accreditation, based in Edmonton.
“Accreditation demonstrates that the photographer is capable of delivering above-average quality photography in a chosen category,” they said. “In assessing submissions, the judges consider the following criteria: impact, creativity, style, composition, presentation, colour balance, centre of interest, lighting, subject matter, image file quality, technique, and story-telling.”
Knight, who is already accredited for her work as a professional dog photographer, said she was thrilled to receive the latest news.
“In January of 2021 I received my Canine Portrait Accreditation,” she said. “I applied for my Feline Portrait Accreditation in January of 2022, and found out that it was accepted. Seeing the world through a camera lens has become a passion, and although I focus on families, pets, and weddings, just about any subject appeals to me.”
Knight’s dual accreditation now qualifies her as a Master of Photographic Arts. Her studio is based at 503 Broadway Avenue in Killarney, and she can be contacted at 204-747-4234 for inquiries.
