Killarney Fair this Friday and Saturday

Two great days of fun, food, games, and ag show events (12 and under get in free)

This year marks the 140th year of the Annual Killarney Agricultural Fair, and organizers of the returning weekend celebration have a great line-up of events and activities for everyone to enjoy.

The two-day event opens late Friday afternoon, June 24, at 5 p.m., and the $10 entrance fee includes the pleasure of a tasty, fresh pork on a bun supper (next to the beer gardens), served up from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for fairgoers. (Beer Gardens stay open until midnight…)

The Mini Sticks Hockey Challenge begins at 5:30 p.m., and runs all the way to 9:30 p.m., while the raring chuck wagon traces begin at 7 p.m. And at 7:15 p.m. participants can enter a Hit, Run, & Throw competition.

Saturday morning, June 25, gets steaming to a start with a pancake and sausage breakfast, served up from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Entrance to the fair is $10 for the day, and breakfast is included!

The Homecraft Display building will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with loads to see, admire, and explore, and the Miniature and Light Horse Show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 140th Fair Parade will make its colourful tour from downtown Broadway Avenue to the Ag Grounds at 10 a.m., and at 11 a.m. it’s that crazy time for the Straw Pile Search, a chance for kids aged three years to 12 to go wild in the big golden heap.

And there’s a load more for the kids to enjoy at the Playworld Fun Rentals, including inflatables, laser tag, horse rides, ride-a-train – all part of the Kids Play All Day for $8 (runs from 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.)

In addition, fairgoers can enjoy a new look over at the face painting stall, pleasurable fur and feathers to fondle at the petting zoo, the Junior King and Queen Farmer Contest, the Baby Show, the Cattle Show, and even the Killarney Idol Karaoke competition.

There is also live music, a watermelon-eating contest, Mutton Bustin’, a Gymkhana Show, food booths on the grounds, free coffee and cake for the seniors, more chuckwagon races – and many other exciting Ag Show events.

Check out the Ag Society’s full poster of events below for more information, times, and events at the Killarney Agricultural Fair, located at the Ag Grounds (across from Erin Park).

MUTTON BUSTIN’ IS BACK – Killarney Ag Fair returns next weekend, and so does the fast moving Mutton Bustin’ event for kids, along with the straw pile search, chuckwagon races, and a whole lot more. See the full list of events below.
