Christmas in Killarney starts this Friday, December 6

Christmas in Killarney takes place this weekend, on Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7.

The popular Killarney Kinsmen Santa Parade gets the party started on Friday evening, December 6, at 7 p.m. Hosted by the Killarney Kinsmen, it’s a wonderful evening of fun and floats, which travel through downtown and light up the night.

Free hot chocolate on Broadway will be handed out just before the parade (from 6:30 to 7 p.m., by the MNP building, across from the Post Office), and afterwards there will be live music with the mellifluous Burnt Toast ladies over in the Killarney Place mall. Plus the Legion will be opening their doors for the Tots Mall in The Hall for shoppers from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday – because there’s always room for more presents!

You can also purchase Killarney Booster Bucks at Lewis and Jones, which are bucks that will be spent here in town, and make a nice gift.

On Saturday you can have your picture taken with Santa (from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.) along with free hot dogs and hot chocolate for the kids, at the ‘Visit with Santa’ event at the Shamrock Centre, sponsored by the Killarney Elks.

That’s two exciting weekends of fun and shopping and celebration for all ages – and it’s all taking place right here in Killarney. See the full Christmasy schedule below.
